Equality and Equity Leadership

The role of African women in leadership is increasingly attracting the attention of the think- to-do tank globally. Specifically in Africa where women have shown greater interest in leading various organizations and being involved in various careers that before were considered for the male folks. Gender equality is taking shape. The equal ease of access to resources and opportunities regardless of the gender on matters of economic participation, political leadership, decision making in the family set up, work environment, religion set up as well as within the community.

Gender equality means that women and men, and girls and boys enjoy the same right, resources, opportunities, and protections. (UNICEF)

At JoAfrica one of our key focus areas are on women and leadership where we work together with all the genders to ensure that women and girls enjoy fully what is their rights. Women are given equal opportunities when it comes to jobs, leadership, and management of the family agenda. We conduct need assessments across Africa and develop a project plan to help in key decisions within Africa. Our goal is to achieve gender equality in all spheres.
