HUMAN RESOURCE LESSONS AND PRACTICES DURING AND AFTER COVID.
The paper considers the impact of COVID 19 on career planning and development in pandemic scenarios
focussing on the relevancy of the key areas that includes individual/ personal lifestyle, education and
occupation. The paper considered random assessments of Africans across the divide revealing shifts
towards an understanding the relevancy of lifestyle, education and occupation during and in post pandemic scenarios for individuals fully employed, partly employed, and unemployed specifically those who lost their employment because of COVID 19 pandemic. The results from the assessments revealed unexpected relevancy shifts in Lifestyle, education and occupation as the trio goes hand in hand as part of the success of Career Planning while in Career Development there is irrelevancy due to stagnation on the key areas during the pandemic and a relevancy in a post pandemic scenario.
Employer of choice in Africa
The employer of choice is that employer that many people wish to or long to work for;
It is the employer that a day cannot pass without potential job-seekers talking about; It
is that employer that many scholars and entrepreneurs use as a point of reference
positively; It is that employer that if you ask students about the organization they wish
to work for, and at least 70% of that class/group can mention without fear; It is that
employer that you will not be bored when you watch its CEO on a national TV saying
something useful about it or even its advertisement; It is the organization that value his
existing workforce and does everything to develop and retain. It is an organization that
attracts the best talents easily.
