Each and every country has business personalities that have been looked up to because of their focus and devotion to business.
When we lose these noble people we lose important resources to our country and to the family. Kenya is in mourning after losing one of its best businessmen Chris Kirubi a family man known to close deals and built his multi-billion-shilling empire.
The late billionaire was a prolific businessman and industrialist. He held leadership positions in at least 10 companies and organizations.
It is his name that has popped out in the hallowed boardrooms of Kenya’s top corporation especially when the subject is a multi-billion-shilling project both in private and public sectors.
The billionaire entrepreneur appears to have rediscovered his deal making ways to becoming Kenya’s most powerful corporate personality in the current government.
He has been part of every foreign trip that the president has made in pursuit of business and investment. He has been in South Africa, China and United States for business trips.
The late was the power behind Centum’s recent show of large appetite for big ticket transactions that has been straddled both the public and private sectors to the utter amazement of everyone.
His stature as a deal maker has risen significantly under the Uhuru government though many people would argue that the late has always been rich and influential.
Among his many goals he wanted to accomplish the building of local capacity and offering local investors a chance to benefit from the multi-billion-shilling projects.
He was able to nurture many talents in Kenya and created employment opportunity to many in his companies.
He will be remembered for promoting economic growth in the country and his wisdom in nurturing many talents.
Chris Kirubi died on Monday at his home after battling cancer for a long period. His absence will be missed by many. Jo Africa wishes to pass our condolences to the family and friends of the late.
